Refreshing your Christmas decorations can be expensive, especially when you only pull out the stops once a year. This year, skip the store bought tinsel and opt for a fun DIY project with your family to make the holiday even more special!

DIY CHRISTMAS HOME DECOR INSPIRATIONS

MASON JAR SNOW GLOBES

These snow globes make use of old empty mason jars, glue and toy figurines. Use this fun hands-on project to teach your children about reusing and upcycling old items. Place these adorable snow globes around the house or turn them into gifts by attaching a little note with a ribbon.

FELT ORNAMENTS

Sewing enthusiasts can try their hand at making these adorable felt ornaments. Simply cut felt into any fun shape you desire — from trees to candy canes, and stuff them with cotton balls for a 3D look. Make sure to sew all edges closed so no stuffing falls out and decorate to your heart’s content with felt markers, glitter glue or sequins!

MINI CHRISTMAS TREES

Don’t worry if crafting is not your strong suit! These Christmas tree dioramas look impressive but only require three items to make — paper, string and white glue! Create a cone shape using paper to create a mould. Wrap your string around the mould and paint over a layer of white glue to seal. Leave it to dry overnight before decorating your mini tree to look just like the real deal!
